Royal Enfield continued its strong run in the Indian market ending the 2017-18 fiscal year on a high. In the domestic market, Royal Enfield sold 74,209 motorcycles in the month of March, registering a year-on-year growth of 27%.
Coming to its export market performance, the cult motorcycle maker sold 1,878 units, growing by 20% when compared to 1,564 units sold in the same month last year. In total, the brand’s tally stands at 76,087 units as opposed to 60,113 units last year. Speaking about the bike maker’s Year To Date (YTD) performance in FY 2017-2018, the brand dispatched 8,01,230 units locally, and 19,262 units abroad. This translates to a growth of 23% in the domestic market and 25% in the export business. The total (domestic + export) YTD numbers stand at 820,492, a growth of 23% over the previous YTD figure.

Last month, the brand announced its foray into the Argentinian market, with the inauguration of a flagship store in Buenos Aires. For the local market, the 650 Twins will reportedly be launched post-April, this year. The company also launched a Vintage Store in Chennai, which deals with company-approved pre-owned Royal Enfield motorcycles, including vintage models. Royal Enfield is also working on improving the quality of the Himalayan in both domestic and international markets.
