To be launched early next year.
The exhaust note of the Royal Enfield Himalayan has been recorded on a video by a Motoroids reader - Esho Vardhan. The note is expected to be the same on the city and the adventure versions.
The Himalayan is expected to debut at the 2016 Auto Expo in Greater Noida in early February. It would be the only new motorcycle in Royal Enfield's stall at the show. The model is reported to be powered by an all-new 410 cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine with an oil-cooler that could produce around 28 PS and 32 Nm. The transmission would be a five-speed unit.

The Himalayan City and Adventure variant will share the chassis, powertrain and brakes, but spyshots show that the off-road model would be equipped with a longer fork and a high-mount mud guard at the front. The adventure version would also benefit from a fuel tank guard and a sizable windshield. Luggage systems such as panniers and top cases are expected to be offered as accessories.
