The first store will be setup in Milwaukee.
Royal Enfield is working on establishing a wholly-owned direct subsidiary in North America in a few months, for import and retail operations. The brand's first exclusive showroom will be setup in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in the first half of 2016. This information was divulged to Financial Express by Siddhartha Lal, the MD and CEO of Eicher Motors.
The company began actively expanding its global presence in 2014. The brand is already operating in several motorcycle markets across the globe, including Colombia (through a partnership with Corbeta group), Europe (with its exclusive stores opened in Paris and Madrid this year), Spain (with Motorein SLU as the distributor) Germany (via KSR Group), Dubai (where RE's first exclusive store has been opened), and Indonesia (since August), and in Australia (through Urban Moto imports). Royal Enfield plans to inaugurate its first exclusive store in Jakarta later this year.

To cater to the widespread expansion of RE's presence, the company does not plan to setup a manufacturing facility in another nation, but double its production capacity in Chennai from 4.5 lakh units per annum to 9 lakh units, by 2018. The added capacity will come from a new plant that will be built on the 50 acre plot in Vallam Vadagal, near Chennai that the company acquired last year. This site is located within 10 km of the existing production unit in Oragadam.
