Renault India has released a teaser for its Auto Expo 2018 lineup via its Instagram handle hinting that the Renault Zoe will be showcased at the event. The Renault Zoe is a pure electric hatchback sold in European markets.
The Renault Zoe measures 4,084 mm in length, 1,730 mm in width, excluding external mirrors, 1,562 mm in height. The Renault logo housed on the nose doubles up as a charging port. The hatchback’s wheelbase stands at 2,588 mm. The boot space is 338 litres and is expandable up to 1,225 litres with the rear bench seat folded flat.
The electric drivetrain consists of a motor capable of producing 92 PS and 225 Nm in the R90 guise and 88 PS and 220 Nm in the Q90 variant. The car comes with either a Z.E. 40 battery with 41 kWh capacity or a 22 kWh battery. The NEDC driving range for the R90 and Q90 with Z.E. 40 battery are 403 km and 370 km respectively. The R90 with the 22kWh battery can travel up to 240 km on a single charge.
In India, Renault plans to introduce its first EV by 2022. However, the Renault Zoe is unlikely to lead the company's EV charge. A CMF-A platform based EV is what India will get owing to the price-sensitive nature of our market.
