To boast a 2.0-liter engine and a 6-speed manual transmission.
Renault is planning to launch the sporty version of its popular subcompact hatch Sandero this year in Brazil and Russia. The Sandero RS will go on sale in Brazil in the second half of the year, according to a report on Noticias Automotivas. The performance-oriented version of the Sandero hatch was made public last August.
The hot hatch will be powered by a large 2.0-liter 16v flexi-fuel engine. A six-speed manual transmission will help deliver 160 hp of max power to the front wheels, enabling it a 0-100 km/h time of just 9 seconds. This engine is a re-tuned version of the one found on the Renault Duster sold in Brazil.
The aggressive Sandero RS will come with new bumpers and air intakes, side skirts, large honeycomb grille, dual-exhaust pipes, and chunky 17-inch wheels shod with low-profile tyres. A retuned suspension and larger brakes are further upgrades expected.
