Debuts on August 27 at the Moscow Motor Show.
Renault has teased their new race car for the World Series racing championship in a 30sec video and also a picture with the car’s name on it, R.S. 01.
The R.S.01 is designed specifically for competition with a 500 bhp Nismo engine mated to a Sadev seven-speed sequential transmission, sitting on a Dallara carbon-monocoque chassis and riding on custom Michelin slicks.

It is scheduled to be fully unveiled on August 27th at the Moscow Motor Show.
The RS01 name might ring a bell for Formula One fans. It was the name of the first F1 car to be powered by a turbocharged engine and the first to use radial tires. This was back in 1977 when F1 rules permitted either a 3 liter naturally aspirated engine or a 1.5 liter supercharged or turbocharged engine. As it turned out, Renault was the only constructor to take the turbocharging route.
The World Series by Renault or WSR includes races in Formula Renault 3.5, Formula Renault 2.0 and the Mégane Trophy. It takes place at some of the best circuits Europe, like Monza, Monaco, Spa and the Nürburgring, and has produced some of the best racing drivers in the world, Sebastian Vettel, Fernando Alonso, Robert Kubica, among others.
