Renault India has launched its most affordable car, the Renault Kwid, at prices mentioned below, ex-Showroom, New Delhi:

The Kwid is powered by a 799 cc three-cylinder petrol engine capable of 54 PS at 5,678 rpm and 72 Nm of torque at 4,386 rpm. It is paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox, with an ARAI-rated fuel efficiency of 25.17 km/l. Deliveries of the Kwid will start next month.
The Kwid, based on the CMF-A platform, measures 3,679 mm in length, 1,579 mm in width, 1,478 mm in height and 2,422 mm in wheelbase. It has a ground clearance of 180 mm and a fuel tank capacity of 28 liters.
Features seen on the top-end variant include power steering, AC, front power windows, foglights, keyless entry and central locking, a 7-inch touchscreen MediaNAV system with Bluetooth, USB, AUX-in, and an optional driver airbag.
It is manufactured at the Renault-Nissan alliance plant in Chennai with localization of 98 percent. Later in its lifecycle, Renault has promised the introduction of an automated manual transmission (AMT) and a more powerful 1.0-liter engine.
The Kwid will be available in a total of 5 colors. Bookings for the small car commenced in the last week of August. The Maruti Alto 800 and the Hyundai Eon are its main competitors. Renault claims maintenance costs are 19 percent lower on the Kwid than its nearest competitor. A 2 year/50,000 km warranty comes standard.
