Next product to be based on the CMF-A platform, reportedly.
According to a recent report, the next product that will be based on the CMF-A platform of the Renault Kwid will be a sub-4m sedan from Renault. IAB's Shoeb R Kalania has created a rendering of the sub-4m sedan based on the Renault Kwid.
Codenamed LBC, Renault's development team is reportedly working on a proposal and designers are hard at work on coming up with an interesting design. Given that it’s in its initial stages of development, technical details on the Renault sub-4m sedan are scarce at the moment.
This would be Renault's third sedan in the market, following the Renault Scala and Renault Fluence, which haven't been best-sellers for the brand. With the low cost of the CMF-A platform, the Kwid-based sub-4m sedan could be the least expensive sedan in the Indian market, whilst offering a good feature list and a fuel efficient petrol lineup to lure car buyers; similar to the Renault Kwid’s success formula.
