Images shared by MotorOctane reveal the updated MY 2019 Renault Kwid. These pictures uncover a handful of new features and some minor cosmetic revisions.

The front end features a new grille with chrome embellishments. Over to the side, the door mouldings get new graphics.

The 2019 Renault Kwid's cabin gains a 12V charging socket for rear seat occupants, and chrome finish door handles. A reverse parking camera will be added to the features list, which will warrant a slight update to the 7-inch MediaNAV touchscreen incorporating the display for the reverse parking camera.

The changes to the exterior are hard to spot. The obvious one is the new grille up front with chrome detailing. There are new graphics on the side moulding. The reverse parking camera has been incorporated neatly into Renault's Diamond insignia on the boot lid. The 1.0 L variant pictured continues with dark finish wheel covers and matching ORVM casings.

Currently, the Renault Kwid comes in Std, RXE, RXL, and RXT grades. The features mentioned above could be introduced in a new range-topping Renault Kwid RXZ grade or added to the existing RXT grade. The fully loaded Kwid Climber could gain these features as well.

Buyers of the Renault Kwid can choose between a 54 PS and 72 Nm 0.8 L 3-cylinder petrol engine and a 68 PS and 91 Nm 1.0 L 3-cylinder petrol engine. Both pair with a 5-speed manual transmission as standard. Additionally, the latter is available with a 5-speed AMT. Expect these engine and transmission options to be carried forward without changes.

The updated Renault Kwid appears parked inside a dealer stockyard. It indicates that it has already started rolling out of the company's Tamil Nadu manufacturing plant. Renault may launch the MY2019 Kwid in time for the festive season.
