Back in January 2012, the Renault India stall at the Auto Expo was buzzing with people. Renault had a Formula 1 car, a Cup racer, the Duster SUV and Pulse - all shinning and trying to catch eyeballs. However one particular product caught our eye so much that we made a second trip to the Auto Expo just to comprehensively photo shoot it for you.
Yes, we are talking about the Renault Fluence Black edition which sported features such as 17 inch black alloy wheels, body graphics, chrome trimmings on its body, rear spoiler and Black Edition badges. Renault has finally decided to put the Fluence Black Edition in production but made it a bit sober.
The ludicrous paint job with a sizzling yellow strip is gone and so are the black alloys. The production version keeps the 17-inch alloy rims that comes with a diamond-like finish along with slight nip and tuck for front and rear fascias. You also get chromed window surrounds, boot trim door handles and exhaust tip.
On the inside you get leather finish for the steering wheel, aluminum pedal cover, a two-material finish for the seats, as well as rear parking sensors and a Carminat TomTom Live navigation system.
No changes have been made to the engine. It uses the same 1.5-liter dCi diesel that delivers 100 hp and is matted to a six-speed manual gearbox. Sadly, the Renault Fluence black edition is only for Europe for a price of EUR 23,500 (approximately 16 lakhs)
