This year Renault India will launch a special edition of the Duster called the Renault Duster Sandstorm. The company's CEO, Sumit Sawhney, revealed the information while speaking to reporters, as per Livemint.
The launch of the Renault Duster Sandstorm will take place before the festive season, Sawhney confirmed. Details regarding the positioning and features of the special edition are not known, however.
Speaking to the media, Sawhney said, “We are very much committed to India. Our immediate short-term action was the Kwid 02 (Anniversary edition) launch. We are about to launch Duster Sandstorm before the festival season.”
Last month, a report emerged claiming the company was offering heavy discounts on the Duster of up to INR 2 lakh. It also shed light on Renault's plans to trim the Duster range down to just three variants in preparation for the launch of the Renault Captur. Sawhney confirmed the Renault Captur launch in India will take place in the fourth quarter of this year.
Renault currently offers petrol and diesel variants of the Duster. A 1.5 L H4K mill producing 106 PS and 142 Nm powers the Duster petrol. It offers a choice of 5-speed manual transmission and CVT options. The Renault Duster diesel is powered by a 1.5 L K9K engine in two states of tune - 85 PS & 210 NM and 110 PS & 250 Nm. They get a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed manual transmission respectively. Additionally, the 110 PS variant can be had with a 6-speed AMT as well.
Renault offers the 110 PS Duster diesel manual with an AWD system in the top of the line RxZ trim. Prices of the Renault Duster start at INR 8.29 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).
