More variants will help in keeping the product interesting.
There's no doubt that the Renault Kwid has been the French automaker's most successful car in India, with 1,07,033 units in sales since its launch last year. To keep buyer interest in the product alive, Renault plans to launch a new variant of the car every year, as per a new report from Autocar India.
Renault India CEO and Managing Director Sumit Sawhney has told the Indian publication that Renault Kwid customers will have to wait only months to see something new on the car, presumably new variants or special editions. The Kwid is perhaps the most important product currently in the line-up. Compared to January-October 2015 (35,736 units), the company's sales are 211.7% higher during January-October 2016 (1,11,387 units), thanks to the Kwid.
Renault showcased the Renault Kwid Climber and Renault Kwid Racer concepts at Auto Expo 2016, and in the most recent, introduced the Renault Kwid Outsider concept at the 2016 Sao Paulo Auto Show. Rafael Treguer, Vice-President of Sales and Marketing, Renault India, has confirmed to IAB that Renault Kwid Racer and Renault Kwid Climber concepts will be launched as special editions in India.
