As part of a promotional campaign for the newly launched Kwid, Renault Brazil has partnered with Marvel's Incredible Hulk. The Renault Kwid is on sale in Brazil at a starting price of R$ 29,990 and deliveries are already underway.
Renault has roped in the Incredible Hulk, a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, for promotional activities in Brazil. A video showing the Kwid following the Hulk around and driving through obstacles is also up on YouTube. The idea is to highlight the Kwid's crossover credentials and tough nature.
In Brazil, the Kwid is sold in three trims - Life, Zen and Intense. Prices range from R$ 29,990 for the Life trim to R$ 39,990 for the Intense trim. Unlike the India-spec Kwid, the one in Brazil is sold with 14-inch Gunmetal alloy wheels, and a slightly redesigned centre console with the window, door lock, and rear defogger buttons placed below the touchscreen. The instrument console gets a conventional analogue speedometer and tachometer. It features a reverse parking camera and electrically adjustable ORVMs as well.
The Renault Kwid for Brazil only gets a 1.0 L SCe petrol. It is capable churning out 66 hp and 9.4 kgfm when running on petrol and 70 hp and 9.8 kgfm when running on Ethanol. Unlike the Kwid sold in India that recently came under fire for performing poorly in crash tests, the Kwid for Brazil is 140 kg heavier. The increase in weight is due to chassis strengthening and the Kwid is also equipped with a number of active safety features. ISOFIX child seat anchor points, four airbags and ABS are standard.
