The 310cc TVS motorcycle was first showcased as a racing concept at Auto Expo 2016.
A new filing in the patent design and trademark department reveals that the TVS Akula 310’s production version will very likely get the branding, TVS Apache RR 310S. While the bike will not be a track-centric motorcycle as showcased in concept form at the Auto Expo, the change in dynamics and ergonomics will make the machine urban-friendly.
Powering the TVS Apache RR310S is the 313 cc fuel injected mill borrowed from the BMW G310R. The single cylinder, liquid-cooled mill in the German roadster is capable of producing 34 PS of maximum power and 28 Nm of peak torque. The bike was recently spotted on a dyno bench confirming some of its features.
The TVS Apache RR 310S will get upside down front fork in golden paint scheme which adds to the sporty looks. TVS’ first fully faired motorcycle also gets LED headlamps, ABS, vertically mounted all-digital instrumentation and a devil-horn LED taillamp. The bike is expected to be shod with premium rubber.
The exhaust canister is a lift from the BMW G310R, and the exhaust note can be expected to have a similar heavy note as the rest of the Apache family.
The TVS Apache RR 310S will launch in India by July 2017, and will be manufactured at the company's plant in Hosur.
