Has a 4.0-litre N/A engine with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
Porsche has unveiled the limited edition Porsche 911 R at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show today which celebrates the 50th anniversary of the original 911 R. It is limited to 991 examples worldwide, and prices start from GBP 136,901.
The Porsche 911 R is basically a Porsche 911 GT3 RS without the aerodynamic bits and bobs, giving it a cleaner look, that is usually seen in lower variants of the 911 range. It is finished in a white exterior with red stripes as a homage to the original. From the Porsche GT3 RS, it gets the large intakes up front, smoked headlamps, 20-inch center lock rims, and centrally-mounted twin exhaust pipes.
Inside, it is upholstered in dark brown leather with carbon fiber trim, and features bucket seats with Pepita tartan upholstery, exclusive 911 R plaques on the side sills, green backlighting for the instrument dials, and a Sport Chrono package fitted as standard.
With the introduction of a turbocharged lineup for 2016, the Porsche 911 R is the last hurrah for Porsche purists, featuring a naturally-aspirated 4.0-liter six-cylinder engine borrowed from the 911 GT3 RS and a 6-speed manual gearbox. It produces 500 PS with 460 Nm of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels, and is capable sprinting from 0-100 km/h in 3.7 seconds.
