The talking point of the interior is the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) unit with smartphone integration, audio interfaces and the Sound Package Plus with a 110 watts audio system. The PCM can be fine-tuned with optional modules that enable the system to adapt to personal requirements.
The latest generation of the Porsche 718 Boxster marks the return of the four-cylinder flat engine. Powered by a 2.0-litre motor that is aided by a turbocharger, the Boxster offers a maximum power output of 295 bhp @ 6,500 rpm and a peak torque of 380 Nm at 1,950-4,500 rpm. A 6-speed PDK (Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe) automatic transmission drives the rear wheels. The manufacturer claims that the 718 Boxster, equipped with PDK and Sports Chrono Package, can sprint from nought to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds, which is 0.8 seconds faster than the previous version. Top speed is rated at 275 km/h.
The retuned chassis of the Porsche 718 Boxster is said to enhance the handling characteristics of the car. The electromechanical steering system is configured to be ten percent more direct than that of the predecessor to help the roadster feel agile and easy to steer.
