Okinawa Autotech Pvt Ltd, an Indian electric two-wheeler maker has launched its latest flagship electric scooter, the Okinawa Praise. It is priced at INR 59,889, ex-showroom, Delhi.
The Okinawa Praise comes with a host of impressive features. For starters, it gets an LED headlight with DRL, an LED tail light, and LED rear indicators as well. The bodywork is sporty, with plenty of angular elements at the front. The instrument cluster is all-digital, and the pillion seat comes with a cushioned back-rest as well. Other notable features include central locking with anti-theft alarm, keyless ride, mobile charging port, Find My Scooter function, and side stand sensor.
The Okinawa Praise draws power from either a 72V/45 Ah VRLA battery or lithium battery of the same specification. The latter is around INR 6,000 more expensive than the former. While the lead-acid battery takes 6-8 hours to charge, the charging time of lithium-ion pack is 1 hour. The battery drives the brushless DC motor, which has an output power of 2,500 watt. The scooter can achieve up to 35 kmph in Economy mode, 65 kmph in Sporty mode, and 75 kmph in Turbo mode. The range per charge stands at around 170 - 200 km.
The Okinawa Praise rides on telescopic gas-charged front fork, and twin rear gas-charged shock absorbers. For optimal stopping power, it comes with double discs (on one side) at the front, and a single disc at the rear, both with Electronic Assisted Braking System (E-ABS). The 12-inch aluminium alloy wheels are shod with 90-section tubeless tyres on both ends. The ground clearance is at 170 mm, and the loading capacity stands at 150 kg.
The brand has tied up with HDFC, which lets buyers avail a loan up to 80% of the on-road price. The offer will be available in Tier I, II and III cities pan-India. Bookings are open, at a token amount of INR 2,000 and deliveries will commence by the end of this month.
