Back in February, Nissan disclosed its plan to launch an assault on the SUV market in India. Based on the same platform as the well localized Renault Duster, sketches of the Nissan Terrano were released.
In these images sent to us by our Twitter follower Mrunal Gandhi, fully unclothed Terranos stand in a yard populated by fellow Nissan cars.
Unlike the Pulse and Scala which came with changed bumpers and lights and attracted criticism, the Terrano, thankfully, is individualized with new sheet metal panels. Components such as the lights, bumpers and grille are completely new, and adding to that, the hood, doors and the tailgate are reskinned. Darkened pillars and new alloy wheels can also be seen.
At the front, the Terrano resembles larger Nissan SUVs and pickups, whereas the rear fascia will make the Chevrolet Orlando's cheeks go red! The same two engines servicing the Duster, the 1.5-litre dCi and a 1.6-liter petrol, would serve on the Terrano. It remains to be seen if Nissan would offer two tuning states with the diesel motor.
Watch out for the Nissan Terrano in dealerships from October. Expect variants to be about 50k more expensive than the equivalent Duster variants.
