The new spy shots, like the old ones, give a glimpse of the next-generation Royal Enfield Classic with optional saddlebags, windscreen, crash guard and pillion grab rail. Do note that most of the accessories that are seen on the test mule are already available for the current generation Royal Enfield range.
The clear windscreen, for example, is currently available for INR 5,000. The air-fly crash guard can be purchased for INR 3,550, while the saddlebags are available for INR 5,500 a pair. The Royal Enfield Thunderbird-style pillion backrest, however, is still not available for the Classic range.
The next-generation Royal Enfield Classic will feature several mechanical upgrades to comply with the stricter BS-VI emission norms. Previous sightings of the test mules had revealed repositioned drive chain, which hints at changes to the engine design.
The BS-VI compliant Royal Enfield range will receive fuel-injection tech as standard. The current 500 cc model already comes with a fuel-injector but the 350 cc model uses a carburettor. However, do not expect a massive difference in the performance numbers. The BS-IV 499 cc single-cylinder, twin-spark, air-cooled engine makes 27.2 bhp at 5,250 rpm and 41.3 Nm at 4,000 rpm. The BS-IV compliant 346 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled, twin-spark motor produces 19.8 bhp at 5,250 rpm and 28 Nm of peak torque at 4,000 rpm.
Like the current models, the all-new models will feature disc brakes on both wheels with dual-channel ABS as standard, conventional telescopic front forks and twin-sided, gas charged, 5-step adjustable springs at the back.

The BS-VI models will be priced higher than the current models. The current Classic 350 ABS and Classic 500 ABS, for reference, are priced at INR 1.53 lakh* and INR 2.01 lakh* respectively.
