As of now, details on the next gen Honda Freed is scarce. According to an old Japanese report, the new Freed will adopt Honda’s current design language. It will feature sharp headlamps, bold chrome grille, sporty front bumper and a strong character line across the side profile.
Expect the interior to undergo an overhaul as well, sporting touch-sensitive buttons seen in the Honda Jazz (Fit) and City, new instrument console, and the HondaConnect feature.
The next Freed is expected to pack a 1.0L three cylinder VTEC Turbo engine, which produced 127 hp in a Honda Civic prototype. It replaces the 1.5-liter four-cylinder naturally aspirated i-VTEC (petrol) engine that develops 118 bhp and 146 Nm of torque.

The Freed is sold in very limited markets: Japan, Indonesia and Hong Kong. Given that the Honda Mobilio has established itself in the segment, and the Honda BR-V is arriving soon, it’s unlikely that the Indian market will get the next Honda Freed. The current Freed is sold in the MPV-friendly Indonesian market at prices from 226.5 million rupiah (INR 11.51 lakhs).
