Newer model gets a significant facelift both inside and outside.
Honda Cars India is prepping a new Honda Amaze for 2016, which has undergone a significant facelift to the exterior as well as the interior. It will launch on March 3, and has started arriving at dealerships.
Exterior Design and Features
The front-end adopts a more aggressive face with larger intakes, bigger foglamp enclosures and a much bolder dual slat chrome grille housing a bigger, upright logo. The headlamp design as well as the cluster appear to remain intact.
However, changes at the rear-end are limited to the taillamp cluster design only. Otherwise it has retained most of the features from the outgoing Amaze, such as the chrome bar, cutout for the exhaust, sharp creases across the bumper.
Interior Design and Features
A bigger change than the exterior is the all-new interior of the Amaze facelift, which appears to be largely identical to the Honda BR-V and the 2016 Honda Mobilio (Indonesian-spec).
The new dashboard adds a more contemporary and premium look to the interior, which houses rectangular AC vents, a single pod instrument cluster and a bigger center console trimmed with piano black and cleaner buttons for the HVAC system.
Higher variants will get a touchscreen entertainment system and automatic climate control, while lower variants will feature a new 2-DIN Bluetooth-enabled music system. Aside from the dashboard, there are no further changes to the interior of the Amaze facelift.
Engine lineup
There are no drastic changes confirmed for the engine lineup. It will continue drawing power from either the 1.2-liter i-VTEC petrol or 1.5-liter i-DTEC diesel engine sourced from the outgoing Amaze. A 5-speed manual gearbox will be standard in both variants, while a 5-speed automatic is optional in the petrol variant.
Expect software/hardware revisions to be made to the engine architecture for better refinement and fuel efficiency.
