New color schemes on the G63 AMG will also be introduced.
Mercedes-Benz India will launch the S Class Coupe in two distinct versions on July 30, 2015. The S Class Coupe will be introduced in the S500 trim, and in a sportier S63 AMG version, the latter having been spied recently.
The S500 Coupe will be launched with a 4.7-liter V8 twin-turbo engine capable of 453 bhp at 5,250-5,500 rpm and 700 Nm of torque between 1,800-3,500 rpm. It is to be noted that the same engine powers the S500 sedan in India, and that the V8 engine is assembled locally at Force India's Pune plant.
The S63 AMG on the other hand gets its power from a 5.5-liter V8 Bi-Turbo engine capable of 585 bhp and 900 Nm of torque, paired to a 7-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT transmission. Depending on its drivetrain (rear wheel drive or the 4MATIC all-wheel drive), the S63 Coupe accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 4.2 seconds or 3.9 seconds respectively before hitting a top-speed of 250 km/h (electronically limited).
Visual differences between the S500 Coupe and the S63 AMG Coupe include aggressive bumpers, AMG branding, larger multi-spoke alloy wheels and a quad-exhaust unit on the latter.
