Powered by a 5.5-liter V8 engine.
The Mercedes S63 AMG Coupe was snapped in India for the first time, and a launch could take place in the country this calendar year. Mercedes-Benz India had announced that it plans to launch a total of 15 models in the country this year, and the S63 AMG could be part of the list.
While Mercedes India does not offer an AMG variant on the S Class sedan, it could position the S63 AMG Coupe as an upmarket and niche offering. The car was first revealed at the 2014 edition of the New York Auto Show, though deliveries started only in September last year.
Based on the S Class Coupe, the S63 AMG Coupe is powered by the hand-assembled 5.5-liter V8 Bi-Turbo engine capable of 585 hp and 900 Nm of torque, matched to a 7-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT transmission. It can be configured with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, with the latter taking a scant 3.9 seconds to accelerate to 100 km/h while the rear-wheel driven model takes 4.2 seconds. However, both variants achieve a top-speed limited to 250 km/h.

The S63 AMG Coupe replaces the CL63 AMG, and is 65 kg lighter than it. An aggressive front bumper, 10-spoke alloy wheels and quad-exhaust pipes set it apart from the regular S Coupe, which is presently not available in India. If launched in the country, it will be imported through the CBU route.
