First of the 12 launches planned by the brand in 2016.
A year after it was introduced at the 2015 Detroit Motor Show, Mercedes has launched the Mercedes GLE 450 AMG Coupe in India. Imported via the CBU route, the GLE 450 AMG Coupe is priced at INR 86.4 Lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).
The GLE 450 AMG Coupe packs a 3.0-litre V6 twin turbo petrol engine capable of producing 367 bhp and 520 Nm. It is paired to the 9-speed 9G-TRONIC transmission and 4MATIC AWD system as standard. This enables it to sprint from 0-100 km/h in 5.7 seconds.
Exterior features include Multibeam LED headlamps, LED taillamps, large air intakes and forged rims as part of the AMG Sport body kit, and diamond pattern grille with a single bold slat. It rides on 21 inch 5-spoke alloy rims and comes with perforated disc brakes.
Inside, it is upholstered in premium leather available in dual tone colors, and comes equipped with an 8.0 inch COMAND freestanding display, ambient lighting, and DYNAMIC SELECT that offers five transmission modes of INDIVIDUAL, COMFORT, SLIPPERY, SPORT and SPORT Plus. Safety features include Active Parking Assist, Adaptive Airbags, Attention Assist, and Adaptive High Beam.

In the Indian market, it will rival the BMW X6 xDrive40d with M body kit, which is also imported into the country via the CBU route. Both the GLE Coupe and X6 slot into a niche sports crossover segment that focuses on performance and looks over everyday practicality.
