Part of Mercedes India's 15 product launches.
Ahead of its anticipated launch in the Indian market, Mercedes India have imported the facelifted Mercedes M Class (now called the Mercedes GLE) for homologation purposes, as evidenced by an import listing in Zauba.
Unveiled at the 2015 New York Motor Show, the facelifted Mercedes M Class not only gets a new name, but also an updated design that is inline with the latest product range. The GLE sports a re-profiled grille flanked by new Multibeam LED headlights. The rear-end features new LED clusters for the taillights and a sportier dual-exhaust system.
Inside, it comes with Merc’s new 3-spoke steering wheel design and a freestanding COMAND infotainment display. The HVAC vents beside the display are new, while the buttons in the center console have been updated.
The GLE 250d imported to India is powered by a 2.1-liter four-cylinder diesel with 204 PS and 480 Nm of torque. Another possible variant to be introduced in India is the GLE 350d, which packs a 3.0-liter V6 diesel with 258 PS and 620 Nm of torque. Both engines are paired to the new 9G-TRONIC (9-Speed) automatic gearbox, sending torque to all four wheels via the 4MATIC AWD system.

Mercedes India is expected to launch the Mercedes GLE in the festive season, specifically October. Being just a facelift, we can safely expect the car to be a CKD from the time of launch.
