Based on Mercedes C-Class' MRA platform.
Based on recent spyshots of a pre-production Mercedes GLC prototype, IAB's rendering artist, Shoeb R Kalania, has come up with a rendering that looks close to the real deal. Mercedes have confirmed that the GLC will be unveiled on June 17.
Up front is the now-familiar LED headlamps with LED daytime running lights flanking a 2-slat grille, as well as a simple lower fascia. The rear gets new horizontal wraparound LED taillamps, subtle roof spoiler, and a dual exhaust system.
The Mercedes C-Class' interior makes its way into the GLC, as seen in the central free-standing 7-inch LCD display with a Touchpad-equipped COMAND infotainment, round metal-finished HVAC vents, 3-spoke multifunction sports steering wheel, ARTICO leather upholstery with contrast stitching, and glossy black center console.
Along with the interior and equipment, the BMW X3 beater also shares the MRA platform with the C-Class, which can pack a wide range of engines. So expect a plug-in hybrid, turbocharged 2.0L and 3.0L engines, AMG Sport variant as well as a full-fledged AMG version that could pack the C63’s 4.0L V8 (M178). The recently introduced 1.6-liter dCi Renault diesel engine could also be in the mix.
