Mercedes-Benz India's website has a new page for the CLA 45 AMG, the next AMG launch in India. Interestingly, the website no longer shows the C 63 AMG, leaving the E 63 and CLA 45 the only 'Saloons' in the AMG section.
The CLA 45 had its global debut at last year's New York Auto Show, and an Indian showcasing took place at the Auto Expo this year. Though Mercedes have not launched the regular CLA Class in India, the performance-oriented CLA 45, spotted once already on the roads, will be launched sometime next month.
Power for the CLA 45 comes from a 2.0-liter direct-injection turbocharged petrol engine capable of producing 355 hp and 450 Nm of torque, thus making this motor the world's most powerful series production four-cylinder engine. Mercedes claims the CLA 45 will do 0-100 km/h in 4.6 seconds and hit a top-speed of 250 km/h.
The CLA 45 uses a 7-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT transmission and Merc's 4MATIC system to send power to all wheels. Other features include an AMG sports steering wheel and gearlever, carbon-trimmed interior, three-stage ESP with Curve Dynamic Assist and aerodynamic bumpers with carbon-fiber trims.
When launched in India, the CLA 45 will be the most affordable AMG model in the country. The car will be sold as a CBU (Completely Built up Unit). In Europe, the CLA 45 is priced at 47,600 euros (INR 38.8 lakhs).
