Standard, less powerful AMG GT to be launched later in Spring 2015
Mercedes-AMG's most anticipated 2-door Grand Tourer, the all new Mercedes AMG GT, is set to arrive in the United States in April. The Germans will first launch the 503 bhp AMG GT S, carrying a price tag starting from $129,900 (INR 79.75 lakhs) - excluding a $925 (INR 56,791) destination fee.
It will be followed by the standard 456 hp AMG GT in the spring of 2015, although Mercedes haven't divulged its pricing today.
The company had revealed the U.S spec AMG GT at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show, previewing slight changes required to follow U.S safety regulations, like a revised rear bumper and orange reflectors in the headlamps.
Like every new AMG, Mercedes will launch the Edition One variant, featuring exclusive visual touches and optional equipment over the standard features like Nappa leather upholstery, a Burmester audio system, Keyless-Go, Parktronic and Collision Prevention Assist PLUS.

Underneath the long hood is AMG's new 4.0-liter twin turbo V8, offered in two specs: a 456 bhp unit in the AMG GT and a 503 bhp unit for the AMG GT S. It's compact size allowed engineers to push the engine far back, essentially making it a front-mid engined GT car.
Paired to the engine is a 7-speed dual clutch Gertrag unit, helping the AMG GT and GT S sprint from 0-100 kph in 3.9 seconds and 3.7 seconds respectively.
The AMG GT has a "big likelihood" of launching in India, Mercedes India's CEO Eberhard Kern told IndianAutosBlog.com in October.
