Spiritual successor to the SLS AMG gets a new engine.
Mercedes-Benz took the wraps off its all-new sportscar, the AMG-GT, at the Paris Motor Show last week. As a spiritual successor to the SLS AMG, the AMG-GT is positioned in a different segment, and competes with the likes of the Porsche 911 and the Jaguar F-Type R Coupe.
For a market such as India, the AMG-GT could be an ideal brand shaper, and given that the SLS AMG was sold in the country, it makes sense for the company to launch the AMG-GT as a follow up. Speaking to Indian Autos Blog, Mr. Eberhard Kern, MD and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India, said -
There is a very big likelihood that this car comes to India. We've already got requests by a number of enthusiasts here in India. Our product managers are investigating into this product and the likelihood to see the car in India is big.
