Will be manufactured in India and exported to other countries.
According to Gaadiwaadi, the Indian version (Maruti YRA) of the 2016 Suzuki Baleno hatchback will launch in India on October 26, ahead of one of India's most popular festivals - Diwali.
The exterior will be identical to the Euro-spec Suzuki Baleno, and will be slotted above the Maruti Swift. It will establish the premium C-segment hatchback in India, which currently has no products from other manufacturers. In European markets, the Suzuki Baleno will rival products like the VW Golf, Kia cee'd, Hyundai i30 and Peugeot 308.
Inside, the Maruti YRA (Baleno) will feature a SmartPlay touchscreen entertainment system borrowed from the Maruti S-Cross, automatic climate control, an MID, a multifunction steering wheel borrowed from the Swift, and dual airbags.
The Maruti YRA is based on Suzuki’s next-gen platform tuned for increased fuel efficiency and dynamic performance. Under the hood, it is likely to feature a 1.2-liter K-Series petrol and a 1.3-liter DDiS diesel from the Maruti Swift. The SHVS system, which is featured in the new Maruti Ciaz, will also be offered in the diesel variant for better fuel mileage.
