Maruti Suzuki has officially launched the Maruti Wagon R facelift with 8% better fuel efficiency. The 1-liter K Series engine continues to service this model with 68PS/90Nm but returns a higher 20.51 kmpl.
The vehicle is OBD-II compliant, helping customers with indications or warnings when the car is not in the best of health.
Maruti say the launch of the facelift was shaped by feedback from customer engagement programs and aims at brand strengthening. Engineers are said to have managed lower friction, enhanced engine breathing and improved combustion to decrease fuel consumption. The transmission oil has been shifted to a lower viscosity for smoother shifting.

Maruti say the Wagon R falls under the Suzuki U- design family with new fog lamps and chrome accentuated front grille in LXi and VXi variants. The integration of the front upper grille lead to lower NVH and aerodynamic friction, Maruti claim.
A dual tone interior color scheme of beige & black is used on all models except for the top-end VXi trim that gets full beige. The VXi trim also has "eagle wings" audio system that also sports USB and AUX-in ports.
A small storage box has been designed into the instrument panel while another useful feature is the day/night inside mirror to lessen glare or reflections at night.
