Maruti Suzuki has ramped up production of the Maruti Vitara Brezza by 10 per cent to 94,000 units during the April-October period of the ongoing fiscal as compared with the same period last year. The company is confident that the increase in production will bring down the waiting time for the buyers.
With an average monthly dealer dispatch of 14,009 units (between May - October 2018), the Maruti Vitara Brezza has been the most popular sub-4-metre SUV on sale in the country. The company sold over 1.48 lakh units of its compact SUV last fiscal. In the April-October period of 2018, over 95,00 units have been sold. The high demand for the Ford EcoSport- and Tata Nexon-rival has often led to huge waiting periods, thereby causing inconvenience to the buyers.
Speaking on the increase in production, which is courtesy of the Suzuki's Gujarat-based facility going full steam ahead, R.S. Kalsi, Senior Executive Director (Marketing and Sales), Maruti Suzuki said -
With the Suzuki Motor Gujarat plant operating at its full capacity of 2.5 lakh units annually in Gujarat, we are able to increase the output. We are confident that with the reduced waiting period, we will be able to enhance the car buying and ownership experience of our customers.
Current on sale in a price bracket of INR 7.77 - 10.67 Lakh, the Maruti Vitara Brezza was launched in March 2016. It has the company's only sub-4 metre SUV. In July 2018, the Brezza became Maruti’s fastest model to clock 3 lakh units in cumulative sales, with the compact SUV achieving the target in merely 28 months of its launch. It is powered by the D13A 1.3-litre DDiS 200 diesel engine that outputs 90 PS and 200 Nm. The motor is available with two options - 5-speed manual and 5-speed AGS (AMT).
