To be launched on March 8.
The Maruti Vitara Brezza has been spotted on the DND flyway ahead of its launch on March 8. It will compete with the Ford Ecosport, Mahindra TUV300 and the upcoming Mahindra Nuvosport.
The Vitara Brezza is the first car to be developed from the ground up by the brand's Indian R&D team. The project was led by Maruti Suzuki's Executive Director, Engineering, Mr. C V Raman. To be sold through the standard dealerships of Maruti and not NEXA, the sub-4m crossover is expected to be priced between INR 6 lakhs and INR 8 lakhs (ex-showroom).
The car is reported to become available in six variants, each of which will be offered with a driver-side airbag as a standard feature, whereas an option pack would be offered which will provide even the low-end models with a front and passenger-side airbag, and ABS.

The Vitara Brezza will come with a 1.3-litre four-cylinder DDiS diesel engine that produces 90 PS and 200 Nm. It will not have an automatic or AGS (Auto Gear Shift - AMT) variant at the time it is launched, hence a five-speed manual transmission will be the only choice. The AMT version is being considered by the company for a later introduction.
