Will be sold exclusively via NEXA showrooms when launched later this year.
IAB reader Harshit Rawat has spotted the Maruti Ignis testing in Delhi, which is confirmed to go on sale during the festive season of 2016. Unlike the Maruti Vitara Brezza, the smaller Ignis will be sold exclusively through Maruti's NEXA dealerships.
The Maruti Ignis made its conceptual debut at the Auto Expo 2016. It will look similar to the model sold in Japan, save for a chrome-rich grille and roof rails. The Ignis measures 3,700 mm long, 1,660 mm in wide, 1,595 mm in high, has a 2,435 mm long wheelbase and a 180 mm high ground clearance.
Reports suggest the Maruti Ignis petrol will be powered by the 1.2-liter K12B engine with VVT, while the Maruti Ignis diesel variant could pack the familiar 1.3-liter DDiS engine equipped with Suzuki’s SHVS mild hybrid tech. A 5-speed manual will be standard in both models, and a CVT could be available for the petrol variant.
