Maruti Vitara Brezza launches today - IAB Report

Maruti-Suzuki will announce prices of the Maruti Vitara Brezza later this evening in an event in Mumbai. Unveiled at the Auto Expo 2016, the Vitara Brezza is the first compact SUV for India's largest car maker, and rivals the likes of the Ford EcoSport and Mahindra TUV300.

The Vitara Brezza will be powered by the 1.3L DDiS diesel engine only.

Though prices will be announced today, deliveries and availability are expected only post March 21. However, dealers have started accepting bookings for a sum of INR 21,000.

The Maruti Vitara Brezza will be powered by the 1.3-liter DDiS four-cylinder diesel engine capable of 90 PS and 200 Nm of torque, paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. It has an ARAI-rated fuel efficiency of 24.3 km/l. A petrol variant and an AMT may be introduced in the future.

The Vitara Brezza will come in a total of six variants: LDi, LDi (O), VDi, VDi (O), ZDi and ZDi+. A driver airbag is standard across the range, whereas a passenger airbag along with ABS and EBD is optional on the (O) variants and standard on the Z variants.

The Vitara Brezza is the most fuel efficient compact SUV at 24.3 km/l.

The Vitara Brezza will be equipped with an optional dual-tone exterior color, SmartPlay touchscreen entertainment and navigation system, reverse camera, cruise control, automatic headlights and wipers and 16-inch alloy wheels on the top-end ZDi+ variant.
