Price announcement on March 8.
Based on a leaked brochure courtesy of CarSizzler, Indian Autos Blog can inform readers that the Maruti Vitara Brezza delivers an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 24.3 km/l. This figure is not only best-in-class in the sub-4 meter segment, but also puts the Vitara Brezza as the most fuel efficient compact SUV (non sub-4 meter segment included).
Direct rivals such as the Ford EcoSport and Mahindra TUV300 deliver 22.27 km/l and 18.49 km/l respectively, whereas larger compact SUVs deliver 23.65 km/l (Maruti S-Cross 1.3), 21.38 km/l (Hyundai Creta 1.4) and 20.45 km/l (Renault Duster 85 PS).
The Maruti Vitara Brezza is powered by the familiar 1.3-liter four-cylinder DDiS diesel engine capable of 90 PS at 4,000 rpm and 200 Nm of torque from 1,750 rpm paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Later in its lifecycle Maruti is expected to introduce a petrol variant and an automated manual transmission.
A driver airbag will be standard on all variants, whereas a passenger airbag and ABS will be optional on the base and mid-level variant.
