Available in both petrol and diesel flavors, the India-built Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is expected to capture more than 20% of Nepalese sedan market this year, according to Shashank Srivastava, executive director at Maruti Suzuki India, who was present at the launch.
The Ciaz measures 4,490 mm in length, 1,730 mm in width, and 2,650 mm in wheelbase, which lands the sedan in a segment comprising of cars like the Hyundai Verna, Honda City, and the Skoda Rapid.
Under the hood, customers will be presented with a choice between two engines: a 92 PS 1.4-liter K-Series petrol engine or a 1.3 liter Multijet diesel engine with 90 PS. While the petrol powered model can be had with a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic, the diesel powered Ciaz will have to make do with a 5-speed manual.
