Maruti wants to capitalize on the festive season period.
Maruti could launch its new Ciaz midsize sedan on October 10. Pre-launch bookings for the car are underway at Maruti's 1,370 sales outlets spread across the country, and the company has reportedly received 3,000 orders within 3 days of the start of bookings.
Set to replace the SX4, the Ciaz will be available with a petrol and a diesel engine option. The petrol motor, which is a 1.4-liter K-Series engine, puts out 92.45 PS and 130 Nm of torque, and comes with a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission. The diesel engine powering the Ciaz is Fiat's 1.3-liter Multijet motor making 90 PS and 200 Nm of torque, matched to a 5-speed manual transmission.
The petrol variant of the Ciaz has its efficiency at 20.73 km/l while the diesel which is rated at 26.21 km/l is India's most fuel efficient car.
