Celebrating the festive season this year, Maruti Suzuki will roll out a new variant of the Celerio called the Maruti Celerio X. According to a report from carandbike, the Maruti Celerio X’s launch could take place on 4 October.
Spy shots have already revealed a good part of the Maruti Celerio X. The X in the name connotes the car’s rugged styling bestowed by its body cladding, new bumpers with brushed silver accents and black alloy wheels. Mechanical changes such as suspension tweaks or fitment of larger tyres are unlikely, as per the report.
The Maruti Celerio is 3,600 mm long, 1,600 mm wide and 1,560 mm tall. The Maruti Celerio X could have minor changes in this aspect due to the new bumpers. It will sport the same K10B 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine as the standard variant. The naturally aspirated engine produces 50 kW (67.02 hp) at 6,000 rpm and 90 Nm of torque at 3,500 rpm. A leaked ARAI document suggests that 5-speed manual and 5-speed automated manual are the transmission choices.
Maruti Suzuki will offer the Celerio X in eight configurations: VXi, VXi (O), VXi AMT, VXi AMT (O), ZXi, ZXi (O), ZXi AMT and ZXi AMT (O). The regular Celerio in these configurations is available with features like keyless entry, electrically adjustable exterior mirrors, 60:40 split rear seats, power windows (front & rear), CD player with Bluetooth connectivity, four speakers, steering mounted audio controls, ABS and dual airbags.
