Ahead of its launch on 3 March 2017, IAB reader Aayush Raj has spotted the production Maruti Baleno RS in India. Details of the sports variant were officially released yesterday.
The Maruti Baleno RS gets mild styling tweaks on the outside with unique mesh pattern upper grille, larger central air intake grille, sportier bumpers with a grey lip spoiler in the front one and fake air vents in the rear one, 16-inch alloy wheels in black colour and grey side skirts. Colour choices include Fire Red, Premium Urban Blue, Premium Silver, Autumn Orange, Ray Blue, Pearl Arctic White and Granite Gray. There are no interior changes.
The Maruti Baleno RS measures 3,995 mm in length, 1,745 mm in width and 1,510 mm in height, and has a ground clearance of 170 mm. None of these dimensions is different from the standard variant. The RS variant debuts the company's K10C 1.0-litre BOOSTERJTET engine in India. The turbocharged three-cylinder petrol unit develops 75 kW (100.54 hp) at 5,500 rpm and 150 Nm of torque between 1,700 rpm and 4,500 rpm. A 5-speed manual transmission is standard.

The Maruti Baleno RS is available in India exclusively on the top-spec Alpha trim level. Online pre-orders for the new range-topping variant are now open.
