Design changes and an improved suspension system in the reckoning for the MPV.
A report on Autocar India states that Mahindra will soon launch a freshened up version of the Xylo MPV to revive sales of the people mover which has slowly faded with time.
Sales of the Xylo took a hit last fiscal year with Mahindra selling only 13,961 units down by 44.3 percent. Sales of the MPV this calendar year aren't any better. In January, the Xylo accounted for 980 units whereas last month, only 323 units were sold.
A dual tone black-and-beige interior, new seat fabrics and a mildly improved instrument cluster are reported to be the changes on the Xylo facelift. Other improvements come in the form of 60:40 split folding third row seats and better lumbar support for the second row seats. Exterior changes will be minor, as only body graphics and a chrome-rich tailgate are reported.
In May last year, Mahindra updated the Xylo with the 2.2-liter four-cylinder mHawk engine which makes 120 bhp and 280 Nm of torque. The powertrain would continue unchanged, though further improvements could be seen to the suspension system.
