According to a report published by CarToq, their sources have confirmed that the Mahindra Scorpio facelift will benefit from an increment in power output. Mahindra will roll out the updated Scorpio this month with cosmetic revisions and additional features.
The 2.2 L mHawk diesel that powers the Scorpio produces 120 bhp and 280 Nm in its current state. With the launch of the facelift, power and torque figures will go up to 140 bhp and 330 Nm respectively. These figures are identical to the XUV500's, but the reports indicate that the facelift planned for the XUV500 will also bring with it an increase in power and torque outputs.
Earlier report hints at the return of automatic transmission variants armed with an Aisin sourced 6-speed unit. The 5-speed manual is likely to be carried over as is. Also, the entry-level S2 trim with the 2.5 L m2DCIR will continue without any changes to its 75 bhp and 200 Nm power and torque outputs. Intelli-Hybrid variants will be skipped this time around.
There will be minor cosmetic updates all around. A new toothed grille and revised front bumper detailing along with red tinted tail lamp glass are some of the changes the Scorpio will receive. The cabin is likely to gain new seat upholstery and a new 7-inch touchscreen with Connected Apps, EcoSense and, eventually, Android Auto.

Mahindra continues to report high demand for the Scorpio shipping well over 4,000 units month after month. The launch of the facelift should help give that number a push.
