All new monocoque S101 to come next year.
The Mahindra S101 (codename) was spotted on test once again in Chennai, by 'Deceptron', a forum member of The Automotive India. The prototype seen here reveals the sharply-cut shape of its taillight cluster, though the circular bulbs located would change on the production model.
As reported previously, the sub-4 meter S101 is based on an entirely new monocoque platform. The car will be one of Mahindra's entry level products when it goes on sale sometime next year. It will have an overall size of a B-segment premium hatchback but the styling will be of the crossover type, sources told Indian Autos Blog.

Powering the S101 will be newly developed three-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. The engines will be paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox though an automated manual transmission (AMT) could also be under consideration.
