Bookings started earlier this month.
A report on Overdrive states that Mahindra will launch the Mojo on October 16, approximately 5 years and 8 months after the motorcycle was first showcased as a concept, at the 2010 edition of the Auto Expo. Earlier this month, several dealerships started accepting orders for the Mojo, and the report states that test drive/demo units have also started arriving now.
To recap, the Mojo is powered by a 295 cc single-cylinder, DOHC, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine, developing 27 bhp and 30 Nm of torque, and is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Braking power for the Mojo comes from a 320 mm disc up front and a 240 mm disc at the rear, though ABS would not be on offer, at least initially.
Suspension duties are handled by 37 mm Paioli inverted forks upfront and a monoshock at the rear while the Mojo will be shod with Pirelli Diablo Rosso II tyres (100/70-R17 and 150/60-R17 at front and rear respectively).
Other features on the motorcycle include a 21 liter fuel tank, twin-exhaust pipes, LED pilot lights, dual headlights, an analog tachometer, two trip meters, clock, top-speed recorder and a timer (for 0-100 km/h or quarter mile).
The Mojo is expected to be priced under INR 2 lakhs, ex-Showroom, when it goes on sale next month.
