The Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Squadra Corse is a trackbred version of the Italian supercar marque's most successful model.
The road legal supercar is based on the Gallardo Super Trofeo which in turn is based on the Gallardo Superleggera. The Lamborghini Blancpain Super Torfeo is the world's fastest one make car racing series and that gives us some idea about the Gallardo Squadra Corse.
The special Gallardo is visually differentiated from the LP 560-4 by the color theme which has a glossy black finish for the engine hood, rear diffuser, front air intakes and the 19" wheels. The rear spoiler is finished in matte black and there are Italian tricolor decals on the flanks.
The LP 570-4 Squadra Corse borrows its carbon fibre engine hood and spoiler from the Super Torfeo race car. Lamborghini say that the spoiler generates three times the downforce compared to that of the LP 560-4.
The interior is dominated by carbon fibre and Alcantara. The centre console, handbrake frame, racing seats and door pads are all made of the expensive composite to keep the weight in check. Speaking of weight, the Gallardo LP 570-4 Squadra Corse tips the scale at 1,340kg which is a full 70kg lighter than the regular version.
The engine is the same 5.2 litre V10 but the power output is pumped up to 570PS. The robotized e-gear six speed gearbox handles the transmission duty. 0-100kph comes in a scant 3.4 seconds (0-200kph in 10.4 seconds) and the top speed stands at 320kph.
The car is made in four color options - Giallo Midas (yellow), Bianco Monocerus (white), Grigio Thalasso (grey) and in Rosso Mars (red).
The Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Squadra Corse will make its world premiere at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
