Will be based on the 2017 Duke 390's platform.
Overdrive states that KTM officials confirmed to the publication that the KTM 390 Adventure will launch in 2019. The long-rumored adventure tourer will be based on a new platform, and will rival the likes of the Royal Enfield Himalayan and the forthcoming BMW G310R-based F310 GS.
The publication states that a KTM official told them that KTM 390 Adventure prototypes based on the current platform "didn’t get far". They had a very tall seat height and the ground clearance was not significantly higher than the Duke variants.
In the current lineup, the KTM Duke and RC models are separated only by a change in steering geometry aside from the addition of the fairing in the latter. However, the report states that the gap between the forthcoming 390 Adventure and the all-new 2017 KTM 390 Duke will be 'significant'.

Speaking of the next-generation KTM Duke 390, the publication states that the motorcycle will have its debut at the EICMA 2016 in Milan, Italy, which starts on November 10. The next-generation RC390 is expected next year, and will be followed by the launch of the 390 Adventure. These motorcycles are expected to be made-in-India with a high-degree of localization, and would be exported to global markets.
