The Kia SP Concept in production form will come with a suite of advanced technologies to appeal to tech-savvy and young Indian customers. These could include several segment-firsts.
Citing an undisclosed source, a new report from Autocar India says that the list of probable features for the Kia SP2i is a long one. Its main features are expected to include fully digital instrument cluster (first-in-segment), ventilated front seats, electric adjustment for the driver’s seat (first-in-segment), head-up display (first-in-segment), onboard Wi-Fi (first-in-segment), 360-degree camera, wireless charger, and an ambient lighting package.
Spy shots suggest that the Kia SP Concept in production form will look close to the concept version. Kia’s teams in India and South Korea are working on the production model. Reports say that an upgraded version of the Hyundai Creta’s platform will underpin the premium B-SUV. This platform can spawn a seven-seater, and Kia will consider a 7-seat SP should the 5-seat version receive a good response.
Reports say that Kia will offer the SP Concept with an all-new 1.5-litre petrol engine and an all-new 1.5-litre diesel engine. An automatic transmission is expected right from launch, and these equipped configurations should feature paddle shifters.
