The Kawasaki Versys 650 is being showcased at the 2015 Thailand Motor Expo. The model is reported to be slated for a launch in India.
The Versys 650 is the smaller version of the Kawasaki Versys 1000 that is based on the chassis of the Ninja 650R and the ER-6n. All three models share powertrain, brakes, wheels and electronics, while the styling, riding position, suspension components, rear sub frame and the state of tune of the engine vary as they cater to different styles of use.
The 649 cc inline-twin, liquid-cooled and fuel-injected engine with four valves per cylinder and DOHC, produces 68.1 bhp of maximum power at 8,500 rpm and 63.7 Nm of peak torque at 7,000 rpm. It is mated to a six-speed gearbox.
The 216 kg sport-tourer is equipped with a height-adjustable windshield, reach-adjustable handlebars, an Up-Side Down fork, an off-set rear monoshock, a high ground clearance of 170 mm, a 21-litre fuel tank, a dual petal disc brake at the front, a mono disc brake at the rear, a 120/70ZR17 front tyre and a 160/60ZR17 rear tyre.

The Kawasaki Versys 650 is expected to be priced less than INR 6 lakhs (ex-showroom) in India.
