Will be launched in India as well.
The Jeep Compass and Jeep Patriot will both be replaced by one new product, which is currently being tested with a production-spec body. Jeep will, reportedly, unveil the Compact SUV in early 2016. Based on the slew of spyshots that have surfaced online, IAB's graphic artist, Shoeb R Kalania, has come up with a new rendering of the upcoming SUV (codenamed 551).
The styling of Jeep's Compact SUV will be heading in the Jeep Grand Cherokee's direction, featuring a refined and modern styling. It will certainly sport Jeep's iconic seven slot grille, which is flanked by small headlamps.
Like most Jeeps, it will have a high ground clearance, and black plastic cladding for better protection over off-road trails. The rear-end is slightly raked to the front, and comes with wrap-around taillamps and a roof spoiler.
Reports suggest that it will be based on an extended version of the Jeep Renegade's Small Wide 4x4 platform. As for the engine lineup, a 2.4-liter Tigershark and 2.0-liter MultiAir turbo engines are the rumored options. Both will be offered with a 9-speed automatic gearbox, and could feature the same 4x4 system from the boxy Renegade.
