Suzuki has launched the new generation made-in-India Dzire in Peru. Like the Indian market, the 'Swift' moniker has been dropped, and the sedan is now called Suzuki Dzire. It is powered by a 1.2 L petrol engine available with two transmission options.
There are five variants on offer - GA manual AC, GL manual, GL AMT, GLX manual and GLX AMT. The GL trim includes front airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX, air conditioning, front and rear power windows, central locking, an audio unit with MP3 player, USB, and Bluetooth support, multifunction steering wheel, and fog lamps. The GLX trim adds hill start assist, 7-inch touchscreen, keyless entry, push-button start, reverse parking sensors, leather-wrapped steering wheel, automatic headlamps, and LED projector units with DRLs.
Built keeping the length restrictions of the Indian market in mind, the Suzuki Dzire measures 3,995 mm long and 1,735 mm wide. The GA trim gets 14-inch steel wheels while the GL and GLX trims get 15-inch alloys.
Powering the Suzuki Dzire is the 1.2 L K12 Petrol engine producing 82 HP and 113 Nm. Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT (AGS).
